In lieu of presents for herself, 4 year old Ava, requested that her friends bring a stuffed animal to donate to EMS to be given to children that we transport.
Last year on a flight to Texas she cut her finger on a Coke can and the paramedics were awaiting her arrival to render aide. Her father said that the stuffed animal they gave her to relieve her anxiety had a very positive effect in calming her and turned a frightening experience into an adventure.
On June 26th, Ava and her parents came by EMS Base 3 with 20-25 stuffed animals to be placed on units to distribute to children and hopefully this will eliminate any fears or apprehensions they may be experiencing.
Thank you Ava from EMS and future recipients of your generosity.
